Our Engagement Story

Monday was an ordinary day for me. I had talked to Jerry and he said he had a long day in class and was about to head to a meeting. He has lots of meetings because of his job in the military. That was not unusual. I had talked to Jerry's parent a few days previous and we had arranged a dinner together. The dinner party included: my parents, his parents, and I. Something caught my attention when I was told to "dress-up" for this dinner. We were going to a nice restaurant. "Ok," I thought. That is a little out of the ordinary, but whatever. They want to have a nice dinner that is nice. We dressed up and I was a growing suspicious, so I asked my parents some questions. And they claimed they had no idea what was going on, and that it was kind of strange to them too. We arrived and who was that I saw standing outside? It was Jerry! I was so surprised! Little did I know that the "meeting" he was referring to was his flight to Tupelo! He immediately apologized for lying to me, but I was not mad. How could I be? We went inside, and it was the nicest restaurant I have ever been in; we enjoyed our dinner and each other's company. The next thing I know, the waitress hands Jerry's Dad a beautiful red box tied with a red bow, and gives it to me. As I began to open it, there was another box inside of it; this one was gold and much like the kind of box that holds a ring. I was really surprised and at this point I'm thinking, "is it a ring?" I opened the gold box and inside, to my surprise, a fortune cookie! Now I am really surprised and slightly caught off guard! I broke the fortune cookie and it said, "Christa, you will receive one more box in the near future." I read this out loud and when I finished, Jerry pulled out another box from his pocket. My eyes lit up with unbelief as I knew what he was about to ask. Then he knelt on one knee and asked, "Christa, will you marry me?" Of course, I had to say YES! =) Then when it was all over, our waitress wished and ordered us a plate of dessert with Congratulations written in chocolate syrup around the rim of the plate. We were so surprised at how kind she was! And alas! Good days have to come to an end. When I awoke the next morning, I was sure it was all a dream, but when I looked at my hand, the ring Jerry had given me was still there. I was relieved that it was not a dream but a beautiful reality. Jerry wanted a ring that would resemble Ecclesiastes 4:12, which is also engraved on the inside of the band, "--a threefold cord is not quickly broken." The band of the ring starts out as a braid then becomes three lines representing three cords with a diamond in the middle. I was so touched and it will remain a precious reminder to me that God, Jerry, and I will be a cord not easily broken, forever.

I received my "For Now" eternity band and solitaire this afternoon. WOW! They are beautiful. I recently lost my engagement ring in our house that is being remodeled. After about 5 weeks of agony I did find it, but wanted a substitute! The rings are beautiful. My boss and co-worker both wanted to try them on and thought they were gorgeous. NO CLUE!!!!! I'll see if my husband can tell the difference when he gets back in town Wednesday.

Last Thursday my fedex arrived. After opening three packages I finally came to a gold wrapping with a big bow. Anticipation was killing me. Nothing kills me. I opened the wrapping and a small shiny mahagony box was unveiled. I quickly opened the box and hoping to see the ring found a delicate paper covering my dream.

I careful removed the paper and the sparkle was blinding. The bursts of light glimmering. Cynthia was right, the end result was much more magnificent then anything I could have imagined. The craftsmanship superb.

I had to take this opportunity to commend and thank you for the exceptional work your company provided on my own personal ring. Being a customer of BodyJewels.com for a while, I had no reservations about sending my 18K setting in which I wanted the CZ replaced. As you know, I wear this ring instead of my own diamond, but the CZ was not of the caliber or quality of those I had previously received from you so I asked that you replace it with a Queen's Brilliant cut in a large carat weight. Additionally, I also requested that you plate the ring with rhodium, as I wear it with my platinum diamond wedding band and wanted it to match.

All I can say is that when I received my ring, I was ecstatic!!!!! You had told me that it was gorgeous but seeing is believing!!! AGGHHHHH Oh,,, my gawd.. I am in awe.. I absolutely love my new ring!!!!!! I am in possession of it now. I had guests earlier and could not e-mail you when you called me and my packaged arrived shortly after you called. I could hardly wait until they left to open my box (that sounds awful I know) but I wanted to savor the moment to myself. You see I was not totally honest with you about how I lost my original ring and the story behind it.

When I got divorced in 1996 I was a single mom with little to no money. . I pawned my Jewelry to make ends meet to support my children and lost it. My children came first, they still do.

Someday I would like to replace the center stone with a nice diamond. Until then this will do very nicely. Thank you for all you did to help me replace a cherished memory. My Son Alex who passed away in 2003 helped me pick that ring out and now I can once again have a reminder of that precious gift.

I had to take this opportunity to commend and thank you for the exceptional work your company provided on my own personal ring. Being a customer of BodyJewels.com for a while, I had no reservations about sending my 18K setting in which I wanted the CZ replaced. As you know, I wear this ring instead of my own diamond, but the CZ was not of the caliber or quality of those I had previously received from you so I asked that you replace it with a Queen's Brilliant cut in a large carat weight. Additionally, I also requested that you plate the ring with rhodium, as I wear it with my platinum diamond wedding band and wanted it to match.

All I can say is that when I received my ring, I was ecstatic!!!!! You had told me that it was gorgeous but seeing is believing!!! When I spoke to you on the phone, I kept walking back and forth to the patio doors to see the stone in full sunlight I needed sunglasses!!!! You were curious as to what my husband's reaction would be, and I told you I would let you know as soon as he returned. Well, he was speechless!!!! He said that now we could put my real diamond back in the vault because nobody could tell the difference!!!!!
